The Academic Geriatric Resource Program

Charged with encouraging and coordinating geriatric training within the University of California system, the Academic Geriatric Resource Program (AGRP) was made possible by California State Assembly Bill 2614 (1984) which allocates funds yearly through the University of California Office of Health Affairs (OHA) for the promotion of high quality and multidisciplinary geriatric training on the six health science campuses of the University of California (Berkeley, Davis, Los Angeles, Irvine, San Diego and San Francisco).

Introduced by Assemblywoman Jean Duffy (Morehead) in 1984, the legislation has funded fellowships, courses, faculty development, and continuing education in aging since 1985.
