Mission Statement

The Diversity Student Alliance is a graduate student group formed in the Psychology Department at the University of California, Berkeley with the following aims:

bullet

Draw on discussions with thoughtful colleagues about how issues of culture/diversity impact our research choices, methods, and professional decisions.

bullet

Examine our own psychology program’s strengths and weaknesses in maintaining a diverse faculty and student body and addressing issues of culture in curricula, research, and clinical/community work.

bullet

Initiate important steps to strengthen the program in the following areas: links with the diverse Bay Area communities, faculty positions that address diversity, and curricula that integrate issues of culture/diversity throughout the semester.
