Travis Hime's Minimally Useful Page

What's New

Internet Presence

This page is intended as a minimalist source of information for the casual searcher. I contribute in one way or another to several other webpages:

Bio

I was born in Houston, TX, and have lived there on and off over the years. A major portion of my childhood was spent in Great Falls, VA, which is in the Washington, D.C. metro area. I spent my adolescence in Connecticut and graduated from New Canaan High School in 1997. Subsequently I attended the California Institute of Technology, receiving a B.S. with Honors in physics in 2001. Currently I'm a graduate student in the physics department at UC Berkeley. After obtaining an M.A. in physics in 2003, I am now working on my Ph.D.

Academics

I am in my fourth year of graduate school.

Teaching

Fall 2001–Spring 2002: Graduate student instructor for the Basic Semiconductor Circuits section of Physics 111 (advanced undergraduate laboratory)

Spring 2005: GSI for Physics 141A (undergraduate solid state)

Research

I'm doing research in macroscopic quantum coherence in Professor John Clarke's research group.
