Cognitive Neuroscience Research

Memory pervades virtually all human activities and in some sense defines us as individuals. In my cognitive neuroscience research, I have explored the neural basis of human learning and memory through brain imaging, brain disorders, and behavioral changes associated with normal aging. From this research, theories about the brain networks underlying human memory have been developed.

Recently retired from UC Berkeley, Arthur Shimamura currently resides on Oahu, HI. Check out his ongoing writing projects at artshim.com.
